Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween...my blogger friends...This is a truly special Halloween this year. We got the keys to our new house last Friday...and boy, are we excited....We are planning on taking R Jr. trick or treating in the new neighborhood. In the meantime, R Jr. has been complaining about his big Pumpkin...the first time he said 'yuckee', it made me wonder what he was referring to.Take a look for yourself...

We didn't keep this guy out this year, just because it has been raining cats and dogs for the past few days...But I personally think, this look kinda suits it :P

Our late visitors for Halloween - Spiders

Well, I couldn't help myself making some last minute spiders for Halloween...R Jr. painted the egg cartons, then we stuck white pom-poms for eyes, cut out small back circles out of black foam for eyeballs, and stuck black pipecleaners for legs. I poked a needle with a long thread through the head. R Jr. had fun making his spiders dance...even took them to church:)

It's raining pumpkins

I ended up getting around 6 pumpkins and 6 gourds....more than what I would usually allow myself...We transformed them into:

A witch and a pirate(kit from Dollar Tree)

Monsters

Ghosts

And finally...the last and biggest one of all...

Paper plate Bat

No halloween is complete without a bat hovering somewhere in your house for the spooky effect. The newest addition to the list of paper plate crafts was this bat R Jr. created. A rather friendly bat it looks like:)

I used all his creations as halloween wall decoration by clipping them to a string and hanging them up on the wall.

Potato Skull Stamp

Feels like I haven't blogged for ages...Yes, it's almost a month. But with Halloween round the corner, I realized there is so much to blog about, that I have to squeeze in atleast 15 minutes of my time to share what I have been doing lately. With the purchase of a new house, stress levels have been mounting. But the excitement that was killed with the loan process is slowly creeping in. R Jr. will finally have some space to move around and Halloween, Christmas and Easter will be celebrated differently...more creatively:)).

I have been trying to accomodate more easy Halloween crafts for R Jr. ...ones he can do independently and without supervision. I bumped into this Potato Skull Stamp from Martha Stewart's site and had R Jr. do it while I fixed dinner.

So easy and by the time I was done with my cooking, R Jr. had gone through countless sheets of paper.

What a great way of using those sprouting potatoes too..haha.
